ENERGY, NATURE, AND GREEN PATHWAYS TO SUSTAINABILITY
Nestled amidst verdant surroundings, Rungstedgaard boasts an ecologically certified peace forest and an organically certified kitchen garden. Nature is an integral part of the experience here - a facet we are committed to preserving. On the roof, we have discreetly installed two solar panel systems that supplement the energy consumption in the kitchen and the Parken conference center.
In 2025, these installations generated electricity equivalent to nearly 8 percent of Rungstedgaard's total energy consumption. Additionally, Parken receives supplementary energy from a geothermal heating system. We also strive to facilitate greener transportation choices.
In the parking area, you will find 24 Norlys charging stations, and at Rungsted Harbor, there is an opportunity to charge with E.ON. For those wishing to explore the area at a more leisurely pace, we offer both standard and electric bicycles for rent, ensuring that the town, coast, and nature are within easy reach.
PRESERVATION BEFORE REPLACEMENT
Rungstedgaard is situated in an older property of significant historical value. For us, it is an important task in itself to care for what has already been created. Therefore, we maintain and restore with respect for the house's history, opting whenever possible for durable solutions that preserve and reuse existing materials.
Wherever feasible, we also enhance insulation and reduce energy consumption. Our guiding principle is preservation before replacement. This same philosophy applies to our furniture and interior, which we repair or sell for reuse when it makes sense.
SPACE FOR DIVERSITY AND COMMUNITY
Responsibility also pertains to people. At Rungstedgaard, colleagues from many different nationalities, ages, and experiences work together. This brings new perspectives, strong communities, and a workplace where diversity is a natural part of everyday life.
We also strive to be an open place of value to our surroundings. In the garden around the house lies our sculpture park, which is open to all visitors and invites art experiences under the open sky.
Our local and social commitment is also expressed through the initiatives we support. At our annual charity dinner for the benefit of the Children's Cancer Foundation, our suppliers donate the raw materials, while Rungstedgaard covers the costs of preparation and serving. This allows the entire proceeds to go directly to the Children's Cancer Foundation. We also support Team Rynkeby and welcome the cyclists when their tour passes by Rungstedgaard.
